Class Science Experiments

August15

Today we got to do 2 science experiments. We tested out why oil and water don’t mix. We learnt that oil floats on water because it is less dense than water. Then we mixed warm water, food dye, PVA glue, Borax and corn starch to make a …. Bouncy Ball. It was all a blast!! More photos to come!!

Cooking a 3 Course Meal

July24

On Monday, June 26th 3/4M did some our first FUN and fantastic cooking lesson. We made some delicious garlic bread for an appetiser, yummy napolitana penne pasta for our main course and a sweet Oreo cheesecake for our dessert. We worked in teams to follow the recipe and create our piece of yummy food to share. Then we worked together to clean up the mess! Check out our pictures of our eventful day 🙂

We loved cooking and we can’t wait to do it again!

Library Excursion

June22

Today 3/4M and 3/4NB walked to our local library to get a tour and borrow some books. We were greeted by the lovely Librarian Cathy who told us about ALL the programs they have on, ALL the great things you can do and borrow at the library and she gave us tour. She also taught us a cool song by the old, famous group the Beatles and she read us a funny story. It was about a little princess who always wanted to win and she tried really hard and won a trophy for her fabulous effort! Cathy was really nice to us and extremely helpful!  We got to borrow lots of books! We are excited to go back! Stay tuned for more photos!

Reflecting on Being an Effective or Top Learner

April27

At the beginning of the year in Term 1 we brainstormed what we thought a ‘good’ or ‘top’ or ‘effective’ learner was. Now that we are in Term 2 we looked at what we said at the beginning of the year and we have reflected about our opinion. Here is a slide show to show our reflection and how what we believe has changed since Term 1.
